My role

My role

As a Civil Celebrant, I will help you create a ceremony that honours the person that lived and recognises their unique contribution to the lives they touched. If you are using a Funeral Director, I will liaise with them to ensure that everything runs smoothly, meaning you can spend the time with those closest to you.

The first step is for me to meet with you, at a place of your choice or via Zoom, Skype or FaceTime if you prefer. If it would be helpful, you may wish to ask some family members or friends to come along too. I will ask you about the person whose life is being celebrated and their story, experiences and interests, so that together we can produce a meaningful tribute.

I can help you plan all the details of the service – you may already have some songs, pieces of music or readings in mind, but if not I can help you to choose these. If you wish, I will deliver the whole service including the tribute and any readings. In other cases family members may like to deliver part of the ceremony and in that case I will introduce them and join the various contributions together.

I will write a script for the ceremony so that the outline is clear. We can remain in touch throughout via telephone, email or virtual meetings and I will send you the script in plenty of time for your feedback and approval.
